Lynda Brown graduated from Leesburg High School, and after ten years in the work force, continued her education by earning an AA degree from Lake-Sumter Community College, a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She began her career as a teacher and advanced to a school administrator before becoming a School Liaison Officer for the U. S. Navy. During her time as a School Liaison Officer, Lynda was nominated for the prestigious Department of Defense Spirit of Hope Award, and on three occasions, her work efforts awarded her installation the Pete Taylor Partnership of Excellence Award for outstanding efforts between a military installation and the local school district.

Prior to her career in education, Lynda was a foster parent for five years and cared for thirty-two children during that time period. She also served as the president of the Lake County Foster Parent Association and brought awareness of child abuse and neglect to the community through writing articles and speaking to local service groups.

Lynda’s many interesting life experiences strengthen and enhance her work as an author and speaker. She has a unique way of intertwining humor with her serious messages. Lynda considers her family to be among her greatest blessings and always looks forward to spending time with them.
