You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him. – Psalm 4:3 NLT
O Lord, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you. – Psalm 5:1-2 NLT
This is what the Lord says – the Lord who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is the Lord: Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. – Jeremiah 33:2-3 NLT
You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. An even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong – you want only what will give you pleasure. – James 4:2-3 NLT
The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. – James 5:16b NLT
Scripture teaches us that we can be confident, positive, and without doubt in what we pray. If we are among His righteous ones through Jesus, God will not only hear our prayers but will also answer our prayers. But, God requires that we ask. We must humble ourselves and ask of God. As we ask, our hope must be pure with our confidence only in God as we pray to Him. And we pray to the one true God, creator of earth and all things, God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, and Noah. As we pray, we wait patiently, calmly, in complete confidence and peace knowing that He will answer our prayer. God says we must ask. And we must ask with the right motives.
